Join our First Webinar: Healthy and Unhealthy Approaches to Anti-oppression and Cultural Humility in Counseling

The State of Vermont has implemented changes in legislation that require counselors to obtain training in highly politicized content. This content, which is cloaked in a veneer of justice and benevolence, puts psychotherapy patients at increased risk for ideological indoctrination. Inspiring terms utilized in this legislation, such as  “anti-oppression”  and “cultural humility”, obscure the continued encroachment of an illiberal and dehumanizing ideology into our profession.

In response, the Society for the Ethical Practice of Psychotherapy will be offering continuing education content designed to meet the requirements of this legislation in a program entitled Healthy and Unhealthy Approaches to Anti-oppression and Cultural Humility in Counseling.

This workshop will be offered on Thursday, May 15th at 7p EST. SEPP is currently working on becoming an NBCC CE provider, and we hope to raise the fees associated with the application through this workshop. We thus ask that you consider visiting our website and making a donation today.

Building Community

The Society for the Ethical Practice of Psychotherapy seeks to build a community of psychotherapy practitioners, educators and students who are invested in the welfare of psychotherapy patients and choose to put those patients first, ahead of any political or social agenda.

No matter who you are or what you believe, if you can check your political, social, and religious beliefs at the door of the consultation room, you belong.

Professional Development

The Society for the Ethical Practice of Psychotherapy is in the process of producing quality, accredited professional development materials for psychotherapy practitioners, as an alternative to politically-motivated or ideologically-driven materials currently available.

If you’d like professional development materials that help you think about the field from multiple perspectives, you might like what we have to offer.
